A permanent 3-metre immersive dome was designed, procured, and installed at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, transforming how visitors connect with the reserve's extraordinary wildlife, desert landscapes, and conservation mission. Combining spherical projection technology with purpose-built wildlife content, the installation creates a fully immersive visual environment that places guests inside the desert's ecosystem before they ever set foot on the sand.

The Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve is home to some of the most extraordinary and rarely seen wildlife in the region. Yet for most visitors, that biodiversity remained largely invisible glimpsed at a distance, described on information boards, or encountered only briefly during guided tours. The reserve needed a way to bring guests genuinely close to the animals, landscapes, and ecosystems that define it.
The challenge was to create a permanent, high-quality immersive experience capable of communicating the full wonder of the desert ecosystem, its scale, its silence, and the life within it, in a way that was visually compelling and emotionally resonant for a diverse range of visitors. The solution needed to feel as extraordinary as the environment it was representing, while remaining intuitive and accessible for daily visitor use.
The technical challenge was to specify, procure, and integrate a dome display system, spherical projection hardware, and purpose-built wildlife content into a single seamless experience environment installed as a permanent fixture and built for reliable long-term operation without ongoing technical intervention.
"The dome wasn't designed to replace the experience of being in the desert, it was designed to prepare visitors for it. To make them feel the scale, the silence, and the life of it before they ever set foot on the sand."

The immersive dome transformed the opening chapter of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve's visitor experience. Where guests previously arrived with little sense of what they were about to encounter, they now enter the desert already connected having seen its wildlife at eye level, felt the scale of its landscapes, and understood the stakes of its conservation story.
The installation elevated the reserve's ability to communicate its mission, giving conservationists and educators a powerful tool to build emotional investment before visitors even step outside. Guest response has consistently highlighted the dome experience as a defining moment of the visit and a reason to return.
The project demonstrates the capability to design, procure, and deliver complex permanent experience installations, integrating specialist display hardware with purpose-built spherical content and robust operational infrastructure to create experiences that are built to last, built to move, and built to matter.
