Four Activations, One Epic Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Experience

Four bespoke interactive activations built for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix at Red Sea Mall, KSA — an F1 simulator, a transparent screen livery customiser, a digital Batak reaction challenge, and a reactive 'Guess the Artist' music booth. Every activation was engineered to generate excitement, drive engagement, and put fans at the centre of the Formula 1 experience.

The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix needed to extend its excitement beyond the circuit and into the everyday lives of fans across KSA. The brief was to create a multi-activation zone at Red Sea Mall that would generate genuine excitement around the F1 Grand Prix — drawing in mall visitors who may not be dedicated motorsport fans and converting them into engaged, enthusiastic participants in the SAGP experience.

The challenge was to design four distinct activations that each delivered a different kind of engagement — physical, creative, competitive, and musical — while working together as a cohesive, high-energy F1 branded zone. Every activation needed to be accessible to a wide public audience, visually spectacular in a busy mall environment, and capable of generating shareable moments that extended the campaign's reach on social media.

We wanted every person who walked through Red Sea Mall to feel the energy of the Grand Prix — whether they were an F1 fan or not. Four activations, four ways to get them hooked.

How We Turned a Mall Into a Formula 1 Experience Zone

F1 Simulator

A bespoke F1 racing simulator gave visitors the chance to experience the speed and precision of driving a Formula 1 car. The simulator was built to replicate the physical sensation of racing — putting fans directly behind the wheel of an F1 vehicle in a fully immersive environment.

Transparent Screen Livery Customiser

Using a transparent screen, visitors could design and customise their very own F1 car livery in real time. The see-through display created a striking visual effect — overlaying digital design tools onto a physical F1 car aesthetic, letting fans make the car their own.

Digital Batak Reaction Challenge

A digital version of the classic Batak reaction wall challenged visitors to test their speed, hand-eye coordination, and stamina in a fun, competitive format. The game was designed to mirror the reflexes required in real F1 racing — making the connection between the activation and the sport feel authentic and immediate.

Guess the Artist' Music Booth

In the Guess the Artist booth, visitors listened to jumbled versions of popular songs and selected the correct artist from a multiple-choice display. Reactive lighting synced to the music playing in the booth created a fully immersive audio-visual environment — turning a quiz game into a sensory experience.

Unified Activation Control Platform

Central software management system coordinating all four activations — handling game states, content delivery, hardware communication, and session management across the entire zone.

The activation zone at Red Sea Mall became one of the most talked-about SAGP fan experiences of the event. Each of the four activations drew its own crowd — the simulator created queues of aspiring drivers, the livery customiser sparked creativity, the Batak challenge ignited competition, and the Guess the Artist booth kept visitors engaged long after they had taken their turn. Together, they created a self-sustaining zone of energy and excitement that reflected the spirit of the Grand Prix itself.

By delivering four distinct but complementary interactive experiences, Power Interactive gave SAGP a fan activation that was greater than the sum of its parts. Every visitor found something that spoke to them — and left with a shareable moment that carried the excitement of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix far beyond the walls of Red Sea Mall.
